V. Sattui Winery is not only a historic icon in Saint Helena - it's world renowned. In the early 1970s, Dario Sattui realized his dream of reviving his great-grandfather’s winery. After 40 years of success, the structure was in need of an expansion and renovation to serve its ever growing popularity. 

In 2020 ChandlerWorkshop was commissioned as the Core and Shell Architect; designing the building and serving as the project lead for the consultants. ChandlerWorkshop's scope of work includes a complete reconstruction and addition to its tasting room, delicatessen and kitchen resulting in over 2,500sf of additional space.

Other design elements such as exterior trellis structures, completely new restrooms and reenvisioning the master plan were part of the grand scheme. Chandlerworkshop has also helped with permitting the temporary trailers to serve as the retail space during construction. 

The design concept was to match the majesty of the adjacent stone winery’s iconic Italian architecture while maintaining the intimacy of the V. Sattui experience.

Working closely with interior architect BCV, and General Contractor Terra Nova has made this project run smoothly and match the design intent. Other team members under ChandlerWorkshop's direction include: landscape architect, civil engineer, structural engineer, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers, as well as lighting designer. 

The expansion and renovation is expected to open in the Spring of 2025.
